Philosophy
Objective Advice, Personally Delivered
We don’t follow crowds. We go against them.
Our investment philosophy strives to give you a better probability of financial success. While many financial advisors stick with the status quo of picking securities, timing markets, and paying little attention to cost, we, on the other hand, take a very academic, methodological approach to managing your money.
Forging strong personal relationships.
We want to make a difference in the your lives, and we can only do that by knowing you well. Our conversations focus on understanding your goals, family dynamics, financial situation, and risk tolerance. We hold these discussions wherever is convenient for you. And, our commitment to a low advisor-to-client ratio ensures our ability to live up to this standard.
Applying diversification and discipline.
Your interests and your risk level drive our recommendations. As we build your portfolio, we take great care in applying diversification and discipline to keep your risk level as constant as possible. We work with vendors that reflect our values and approach to financial planning – objective advice based on methodical, academic research.
Rebalancing as necessary.
When the markets are high, we rebalance your portfolio by selling the top performers and buying the bottom performers at a lower, price, always keeping in mind your current situation, your goals, and how you feel about the market.
Investing involves risk including loss of principal. No strategy assures success or protects against loss.
There is no guarantee that a diversified portfolio will enhance overall returns or outperform a non-diversified portfolio. Diversification does not protect against market risk.
Rebalancing a portfolio may cause investors to incur tax liabilities and/or transaction costs and does not assure a profit or protect against a loss.
